The Centre for Women’s Global Health is determined to improve access to sexual and reproductive health and rights and maternal health services for women, girls and people who can get pregnant around the world.
We collaborate with partners to provide education and advocacy. Together we support healthcare professionals to address barriers to access and provide high quality, respectful care for women and girls in low and middle-income countries.
To do this we:
- work with RCOG members, fellows and trainees to strengthen clinical practice for obstetricians and gynaecologists, non-specialist doctors, nurses and midwives by developing training, education and guidance, and supporting continuing professional development and mentorship
- work with health professionals as advocates to transform attitudes and influence policy and practice reform at a local and national level
- amplify the lessons and experiences of our members and partners, giving them a platform to raise their voice and share clinical expertise in international advocacy spaces.
Influencing international policy to improve women’s health globally
Our strategy to build skills and advocate for better women’s healthcare focuses on four thematic areas:
- Gynaecological health
- Maternal health
- Abortion and contraception
- Gender-based violence
