Remit
- Provide oversight in relation to the management of the College’s Heritage Collections.
- Ensure good governance and good practice in relation to the Heritage Collections.
- Support the College in retaining our Archive Service Accreditation and obtaining and subsequently maintaining Museum Accreditation.
- Approve and provide reassurance to the F&GPC that appropriate policies, plans, procedures and programming pertaining to the Heritage Collections are in place and adhered to.
- Discuss and agree acquisitions and disposals where appropriate in line with approved policies.
- Advocate for and promote the Heritage Collections internally at the RCOG and externally, in order to bring attention to, and public awareness of, the RCOG’s current work and goals.
- Ensure that professional standards of management, care, access and interpretation of the collections are maintained.
- Report on Activity to the F&GPC, demonstrating due diligence.
- Keep in line with regulations and other governing documents, and legal and regulatory requirements.
