Vice President for Membership and Workforce
Laura Hipple has worked as an Associate Specialist in North Cumbria since 2003, where she is currently also SAS doctor lead and tutor.
She has been on Council since 2018, when she was appointed as RCOG National SAS/LE doctor Lead. She chairs the RCOG SAS/LED Committee and has been a Vice Chair of the AoMRC SAS Committee since 2019.
Laura has worked in obstetrics and gynaecology for over 30 years, including more than 20 years resident on-call experience. She helped to establish an early pregnancy clinic in Carlisle and to introduce scanning into local fertility clinics, eventually leading fertility services in Carlisle.
She provided medical leadership for antenatal screening in North Cumbria and chaired cross-site multi-disciplinary antenatal screening and pregnancy loss groups. She has been an RCOG recruitment champion, Special Skills Module preceptor, educational supervisor and ultrasound trainer. She is a Trust appraiser.
Laura helped organise, chair and present at the 2020 AoMRC National SAS Conference hosted virtually by the RCOG. She has also chaired and presented at other national conferences and contributed to many national publications relating to SAS doctor careers.
