Consisting of three prizes, the Tim Chard Case History Prize has been generously endowed by Barts and the London School of Medicine to further the contribution of the late Professor Tim Chard in obstetrics and gynaecology.
The prize recognises and promotes excellence in the analysis and presentation of clinical cases in obstetrics and gynaecology. The prize aims to foster critical reflection and scholarly discourse honouring Professor Tim Chard’s legacy, inspiring future clinicians to pursue innovative approaches and uphold the highest standards in women’s healthcare.

Eligibility
The prize is open to all medical students from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Assessment criteria
Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Case description
- Literature review
- Critical discussion
- Clinical relevance
- Level of involvement
- References
Conditions
Submissions should demonstrate understanding of a clinical problem in O&G and include a written case history with an intelligent discussion. The submission must represent original work and clearly demonstrate the applicant’s analytical and clinical acumen.
