MRCOG Part 3 exam: how to apply

1. Assessment of training (AoT)

Before applying for the MRCOG Part 3 exam, candidates must have had their training assessed to confirm their eligibility to register.

AoT requirements

Before you start your application or plan your training assessment, please review the following key points:

  • You can apply to have your training assessed after passing the MRCOG Part 1 exam
  • AoT applications can be submitted at any time, but approval must be granted before you can apply for the MRCOG Part 3 exam
  • Candidates who have had their AoT approved as part of the MTI application, or prior to July 2019 as part of their MRCOG Part 2 eligibility requirements, do not need to apply again
  • Please allow up to four weeks for your AoT application to be processed. See the key deadline dates

2. Eligibility

In order to be eligible to sit the MRCOG Part 3 exam, candidates must have sat and passed the MRCOG Part 2 exam.

Candidates must also satisfy eligibility requirements regarding attempts, as stipulated in the Exam Regulations.

3. Booking

All eligible MRCOG Part 3 candidates will be contacted when the exam booking window is open.
