Summary
This Scientific Impact Paper aims to increase gynaecologists’ awareness of therapeutic modalities for chronic pelvic pain that target the nervous system. A variety of non-invasive and invasive options are considered, including antidepressant and anticonvulsant drugs, external electrical or magnetic stimulation, and surgical treatments. It concludes that these options should be considered by gynaecologists when managing women with chronic pelvic pain.
