Staff and members of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists share our sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Charles III on the occasion of his Coronation.
The College is proud of our heritage and long association with the Royal Family, dating back to 1938 when our Royal title was granted followed by our Royal Charter in 1947. We were honoured to host a visit by His Majesty, King Charles III to our former home in Sussex Place 2012, along with visits by both Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1932 and her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1960.
It is almost one year to the day since the College had the pleasure of welcoming Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales, our Patron and Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, Patron of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), to officially open our new home at Union Street in April 2022. We greatly valued the opportunity to share the work of our College and dedication of our membership, spanning many Commonwealth countries, to improving the health of women and girls across the world.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to the Royal Family for everything they do to serve and inspire the nation, embodied by His Majesty King Charles III and our Patron, HRH the Princess of Wales, through the enormous breadth of their charity work.
This is a proud day, as we come together across the United Kingdom and the global community to celebrate this joyous event.
