Reporting mechanism

The Clinical Quality Board reports to Council.

The following committees report to the Clinical Quality Board:

• Clinical Quality Assurance Group
• Guidelines Committee
• Joint Standing Committee for Patient Safety
• Patient Information Committee
• RCOG Women’s Network
• Scientific Advisory Committee
• Other multidisciplinary joint committees with the RCOG

Objectives

1. To provide strategic direction for all Clinical Quality activity and in line with the College strategic goals and objectives and oversight of all KPIs relating to CQ activity
2. To ensure that patient safety is at the core of all RCOG Clinical Quality outputs and to champion the safety of women and their babies receiving care across the UK and globally
3. To work with the External Affairs Board to monitor and influence policy developments that impact the delivery and standard of services in the O&G profession
4. To oversee the CQ Quality Assurance mechanism carried out by the CQAG ensuring that stakeholder views are given due consideration in the development of all CQ products and services
5. To monitor and respond to guidance and updates from regulatory bodies relevant to the RCOG’s Clinical Quality work
6. To ensure appropriate information sharing with the other RCOG Boards is maintained to encourage a College-wide ethos and ensure consistent messaging across various Directorate work streams
